Reshma asked:

Are you in awe of the BMW? There is enough reason for the BMW to create awe amongst the car lovers. It has risen to the league of premier and luxury cars and is on the wish list of many. What makes the BMW so special? The very name BMW epitomizes performance. They have proved their performance over and again at many racing events. BMW cars give the same performance on the road as they promise.

If you are a proud owner of a BMW and are looking to improve the looks of your car, you can check out the wide range of accessories which will add to the style and performance of your car. The BMW headlights not only provide the stylish look to your car but also make all your night driving very safe and comfortable. BMW manufacturers are known for the advanced technology they use in the making of the cars. The same technological principles are incorporated to make the BMW headlights and at any time, you will find the latest technology being used in the BMW headlights. This ensures that you get only the best when you decide to upgrade your BMW headlights.

The BMW headlights are unique in that they are the right combination of style, safety and utility. The latest in the BMW headlights category are the xenon light. They discharge very high intensity beams to help the driver view everything during the night drives as in broad daylight. The earlier headlights used to be halogen based and the light from them is not as bright as the xenon headlights. These are very powerful and offer a very good view at nights. They also prove their worth in rough weather like the fog or rain where visibility is very low. The BMW headlights based on xenon cut through the fog enabling a smooth drive in zero visibility conditions as well.

If you are an adventurous person and love to go on explorations, the xenon BMW headlights are for you. They are so bright that they will guide you through unknown terrains with utmost ease. Their sharp beams makes sighting possible at quite some distance, thereby enabling you to exercise caution during night driving in unknown area. These headlights also allow others to view your car. They thus enhance the looks of your car. When you are going on long night drives, the BMW headlights reduce the stress on your eyes.

Even if you do not own a BMW, you can use the BMW headlights for any other make or model of car. These headlights are high performing and many people opt to use them in their cars for ensuring a safe drive. Some of the technologically advanced BMW headlights can change their focus bases on speed. This is particularly useful when one is driving at high speeds. They also consume less electricity.

These headlights are made to suit each and every make and model of the BMW cars. As with buying any product, be sure to do your research well before buying the BMW headlights. There are many unauthorized dealers who sell imitations and you can get easily duped. It is always advisable to check out the known and reputed stores to select what is best for your car.  Cheap and spurious products not only does not give you what you want but will also spoil the look and style of your car.

There are many car accessories stores from where you can get BMW headlights suitable for your car. You can just walk into a store which sells headlights and browse through the various products before the final purchase.

I have a 1999 528i bmw. I just bought last week or so used. I just noticed that the rear ac console is missing the back plastic around it. The ac duct and output is still there but the housing around it is missing. I just need that part to pop in and I’m good but can’t find any where online with a straight answer. Thanks for the help in advance.

Anthony Fontanelle asked:

BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd is confident of having another good year by selling more cars than it did in 2006. “We have started well in 2007, with sales growing 37% quarter on quarter to hit 535 units in the first quarter,” managing director Wolfgang Schlimme announced. “We have been growing for the last four years. Overall sales growth since 2003, when we sold 2,176 vehicles, was about 60 percent.”

In 2006, the automaker reported its best year ever. The company sold 3,472 vehicles consisting of 3,302 BMWs and 170 MINIs. “We are going in the right direction and setting our priorities in terms of model line-up, availability and pricing. These are the reasons we are different from others. This has led us to continue growing in the past few years against the trend in the auto industry,” Schlimme said.

This year, the automaker has launched a multitude of promising new models - the 325i Sports, 3 Series Coupe, Z4 M Coupe, X3 and the new MINI. Schlimme said the pace would continue as the group strongly believed customers should have access to the very latest and best of BMW models as soon as right-hand drive versions became available. He added the new X5 will be launched soon.

Schlimme pointed out that BMW was also a pioneer in new technology after having launched an in-built global positioning system and night vision system for its cars. “A key decisive factor for our success here is our dealer network. At the end of the day, it is not our team in Cyberjaya but our service advisers, sales representatives and management of BMW dealers that provide first impressions and create long-lasting customer relationships for us. The biggest sales success for BMW is contributed by our dealers,” he said.

BMW currently has thirteen dealerships in the country. Another outlet is expected to be opened by late this year in Damansara in the Klang Valley. “Our dealer network is one of our priorities in the day-to-day business. Our dealers are consistently upgrading their existing facilities, capacities and competence for customer convenience,” Schlimme said.

To bolster the efficiency of the company, BMW supports its dealers by providing architectural consulting, workshop equipment consulting, communications and marketing and the availability of demo cars. “We are in the background, supporting and making the dealers’ sales and after sales capabilities as strong, competent and credible as possible. This is how it should be,” Schlimme stressed.

In the previous years, BMW and its partners had invested over RM250mil in the country. So far, there are three important regional facilities in the country. These facilities play an essential role in the success of BMW group’s strategy for the region.

What’s more, BMW intends to improve its image as a leader in car distribution in Malaysia. The company also has a parts distribution centre in Port of Tanjung Pelepas, a regional training centre and a group data centre that is responsible for the BMW air filter and other significant auto parts from the company.

“We are enlarging our training offerings at the centre, which services 14 markets. Our group data centre provides information technology structure support to BMW organisations globally. It also serves the group’s worldwide network for specific competences, for example, in the global plant logistics system,” Schlimme said.

The BMW group will also start offering customers a one-stop sales and financing resource, with the completion of its purchase of SimeLease (M) Sdn Bhd and SimeCredit (M) Sdn Bhd, its subsidiary. The companies, which have been renamed BMW Lease (M) Sdn Bhd and BMW Credit (M) Sdn Bhd, will provide innovative finance solutions to purchasers via the BMW global network.

Kerry Plowright asked:

It used to be that owning a BMW was seen as a sign of prestige and success. But when you look on the roads these days, it seems that everyone is driving a BMW. The majority of BMWs on the roads are the smaller 3 Series. So what do you do If you desire a BMW, but still want to stand out from the common folk? Well, perhaps you should look at the far less common, and more expensive, BMW 5 Series.

The BMW 5 Series is the mid-range BMW sitting between the ubiquitous 3 Series and the seriously expensive 7 Series. The BMW 5 Series is available in a 2.5 litre 6 cylinder, a 3.0 litre and the far sportier M5, which since 2004 has been powered by an awesome V10 high performance engine.

The entry level 5 Series

If you are considering up-scaling to a BMW 5 Series, then the BMW 525i with its 2.5 litre powerplant will generally offer most the best opportunity, as this is the cheapest 5 Series model available. The BMW 525i offers luxury motoring and is great for cruising on the highways. If you want something with a little more get up and go, then you may need to consider the BMW 530i which is powered by a more powerful 3.0 litre engine.

Some of the features you can expect on a later model BMW 525i include:

·leather trim

·front and rear power windows

·heated mirrors

·cruise control

·navigation system

·leather multi-function steering wheel

·audio system with steering wheel controls that includes remote 6 stacker CD and six speakers, and

·on board computer with average speed and fuel consumption and remaining fuel range.

After a wagon?

If you’re in the market for a wagon, but you also want luxury and performance, then there is always the 530i Touring Wagon. Later models boast 190 kw of power and can do 0 to 100km/h in just under 7 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. You’ll also get good fuel performance too. Claims of just under 10 litres per 100 kilometres may not be easy to achieve, but just over 10 litres per 100 kilometres certainly is. For the safety conscious, the later models of the 530i Touring Wagon include eight airbags and a wide range of other electronic safety options.

Alternatively, if you want a wagon, the BMW X5 may be a better option as it will generally be cheaper, but is a more versatile vehicle as it has soft road capabilities which the 530i Touring Wagon does not.

High performance luxury motoring

If you want a luxury car that you can drive hard with complete confidence, then you will certainly want to test drive the BMW M5. This is the high performance version of the 5 Series with later models including a 5.0 litre, 40 valve V10 engine that produces 373 kw and pushes you from zero to one hundred in just 4.8 seconds. Of course, for this kind of performance you will pay a lot extra than the more sedate 525i or 530i. These cars cost over $220,000 brand new and you probably won’t get a later model one owner car at too much of a discount to this price.

If you really, really want one of these machines but don’t have enough money for a late model, then perhaps you could look at an earlier model M5, although even a much older model may still cost you a pretty penny.

If you want a car for mainly travelling about town, then you should dispense with your high performance fantasies as the BMW M5 is not well suited to city driving. It is after all, a high performance car and is at its best being driven hard out on the open road.

Sarah Mcbride asked:

BMW has announced the beginning of the production of the world’s first hydrogen-powered luxury saloon car BMW Hydrogen 7. Said new car is scheduled to make its public appearance at the Los Angeles Motor Show on the 28th of this month. The automaker will be producing a limited number of the car and said production will be offered next year to chosen users only.

The new car from BMW is based on the 7 Series. BMW body parts are equipped with an internal combustion engine that runs on liquid hydrogen or petrol. When the car is using liquid hydrogen as its fuel, it emits no more than water vapor. Hydrogen 7 also boasts its BMW car parts that include a 260 horsepower 12-cylinder engine. With it, the car accelerates from 0 62 mph in a matter of 9.5 seconds.

BMW Hydrogen 7 is designed to shift swiftly from hydrogen to petrol power. This can be done with just a push of the steering wheel-mounted button. The shift will not adversely affect BMW wheels .

The dual power technology of the car has a cruising range in excess of 125 miles in the hydrogen power and additional 300 miles under petrol power. Aside from the traditional 74-litre petrol tank, BMW Hydrogen 7 comes with a tank that can hold a maximum weight of 8 kilograms of liquid hydrogen.

The engine power and torque of the car remains the same regardless of the power source. Additionally, the driver can switch between the two power sources without compromising driving performance. BMW Hydrogen 7 prioritizes the utilization of the of hydrogen power however; when the power source run out, it switches to petrol power automatically.

The hydrogen technology used by the new BMW pride decrease emissions produced by personal transport and minimizes carbon dioxide emission as well. BMW, as well as other automakers like Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, PSA Peugeot-Citroen, Ford, Audi, and Toyota are also venturing in hydrogen-powered vehicles.

100 units of BMW Hydrogen 7 will be manufactured in 2007. Details, pricing and other information about the 100 cars will be announced by the automaker at a later date.
