Catherine Harvey asked:

When I was a teenager in the early eighties there wasn’t one of the local boys who didn’t aspire to driving a BMW. This was the pinnacle of having ‘made it’. A status symbol that would guarantee the girl of your choice would be riding beside you. Preferably black and preferably with blacked out windows, these cars could be seen doing regular laps of the town centre, much to the resident’s annoyance.

When you think BMW, do you remember the young boys from years ago or do you think of the high powered businessman of today that drive their prized BMW’s to work every day?

One thing that never crossed my mind when considering BMW was the world of golf. In fact, BMW have been holding their own golf tournaments since 1982, going professional in 1989 with their first BMW International Open. This saw them break into the world of professional golfing and heralded them making increasing success year after year.

Aside from the prize money for winning a BMW golf tournament is the tempting reward of a dream car if you succeed in getting a hole in one on a particular hole at each game. The first professional to achieve this was Jay Townsend in 1991 the BMW International Open. After obtaining his hole in one on the twelfth hole he was the lucky recipient of the keys to a BMW 325i Cabrio.

Another marker in the world of BMW golf came in 1992. The BMW International Open saw the one and only time when a total of five players had to battle it out for the prize money. It’s the only time that this many players have been involved in a playoff at a PGA European Tour Event and it was eventually won by Paul Zinger 9the 2008 USA Ryder Cup captain). The other four were to take joint second place.

The BMW Asian Open golf tournament has recently taken place in Shanghai and was won by thirty nine year old Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland. His putt of about thirty foot on the eighteenth hole gave him a one shot victory over his opponent, Robert-Jan Derksen from the Netherlands.

Clarke had been in the top fifty players previously but had seen his position drop to 236 at the start of the BMW Asian Open. This was sadly due to his wife passing away in August 2006 and Clarke has had some major emotional hurdles to overcome to get back into his game. With two young sons to care for, this is a major feat for Clarke and his family must be immensely proud of him.

With his eleventh win, Clarke took home a staggering $383,000 for his time, although it has been a long, hard road. He says he has been practicing for ten to twelve hours a day to bring his game back up to speed and will continue to do this to regain his positioning the top fifty.

BMW are great believers in getting people into sport and to this end, offer scholarships to the most deserving and dedicated of young players. Their scholarship establishments have been in a class that have seen them at the top of this field and have earned them world-wide recognition for the part they play in helping young people achieve their goals and dreams.

Wayne Hemrick asked:

If you drive a BMW 3 Series, 5 Series or X-5 vehicle built between 2002 and 2006 and you find yourself needing to use a cell phone while driving, you must have a BMW Bluetooth upgrade module today. Recent tragic and near-tragic events have demonstrated that attempting to use a cell phone while driving is unsafe, posing a potentially deadly hazard to yourself and others. As growing numbers of states and cities are passing legislation making it illegal to use a cell phone while driving, the installation of a BMW Bluetooth upgrade module allows you to comply with these new laws while using your cell phone with greater safety.

How Bluetooth Works

It is unlikely that there is anyone today who has not encountered, used, or at least heard of Bluetooth technology. What most people do know is that Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows people to use a mouse and keyboard with the personal computers without the spaghetti-like tangle of cords.

Bluetooth is indeed this, but it is much more. It is actually a protocol, using low-bandwidth radio waves, that allows all kinds of digital devices to “talk” to each other. Musicians may remember MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface), an industry standard that allows a wide variety of musical instruments to communicate and be played by a single person. What MIDI did for music, Bluetooth has done for computers, cell phones, digital cameras, and even game consoles!

Integrating Bluetooth With Your BMW

The benefits upgrading your vehicle with the BMW Bluetooth upgrade module is that it allows you to fully integrate your cell phone into your BMW’s sound system. Using the car’s OEM radio and speakers, you will be able to receive incoming calls without ever having to physically reach for your cell phone. The BMW Bluetooth upgrade module even mutes your radio programming automatically when an incoming phone call is detected.

You’ll also be able to make outgoing calls using the buttons on your steering wheel and voice command. Not all cell phones are supported, but you’ll still be able to take advantage and enjoy the safety of being able to use your cell phone without looking away from the road or removing your hands from the steering wheel.

It’s Easy and Inexpensive

The BMW Bluetooth upgrade module is an affordable way to bring your car’s capabilities up-to-date, and the specific instructions that are included takes the mystery out of installation. Each BMW Bluetooth upgrade module is model-specific and based on original equipment manufacturer parts. It’s virtually “plug and play.”

Visit Bavarian Soundwerks today. With just a few pieces of information about your vehicle, we’ll have you set up with the correct BMW Bluetooth upgrade module in no time.

I have something wedged in between my front bumper and right wheel liner of my 325i. It might be some loose gravel or rocks because there is construction in my neighborhood. My hands are too big to squeeze from under and pull the object out. Does anyone know how to properly uninstall the right wheel liner of a BMW 325i so I can take out whatever is wedged in between my car? My car is pretty new. A used 2006 or 2007. I don’t know if that makes a difference on how the wheel liner is put together.

I have a 1986 BMW 528e. Both power windows in the back were lowered all the way down and one came back up half way but the other is barely visible, meaning it’s still almost all the way lowered. Is there a way to put both back up without paying a mechanic?

Abhisekkmr asked:

When we talk about a vehicle with luxury, power and style all together then only one name comes in our mind and that is BMW. BMW is one of the most successful car manufacturers of the world. These cars are also one of the most expensive cars of the world. BMW vehicles give ultimate performance in any conditions and on any kind of surface.

Here we are going to talk about BMW E32 model. This model of BMW was launched in the year of 1987. BMW E32 was the first vehicle from BMW who was equipped with V12 engine. It was the best luxury and powerful car of that time. This car was equipped with telephone, fax machine, wine cooler, double glazing and electronic stability control. This car was really amazing. The car could reach 300 km/hr.

Now we will talk about BMW E32 headlights. When we talk about lighting equipments of the car then mainly four things comes in our mind. These are fog lamps, tail lights, interior body light and the most important headlights. Why headlights are most important? Headlights are most important because they are the eyes of the car. This doesn’t mean that others are not important. BMW E32 headlights are superb and stylish in look and powerful also. At present also these BMW E32 headlights are in very much demand. If you will search it over internet then you will find lots of options to choose the headlights. In different types and different styles, these headlights are available. Anyone can find them in different color such as Chrome or Black. Some most popular and best BMW E32 headlights are:

-         BMW E32 Black Angel Eyes Headlights 1987 – 1994 — $310 - $320 – European Version Glass Crystal Black Headlights, Crystal Smoked Corner Lights. European Crystal Black Angel eyes Ellipsoid Projector Headlights.

-         BMW E32 HID Xenon Angel Eyes Headlights 1987 – 1994 — $410 - $420 – Xenon Equipped European Version Glass Crystal Clear Headlights + Crystal Clear Corner Lights. Ellipsoid Projector Headlights with Xenon Bulbs.

-         BMW E32 Chrome Headlights Halo 1987 – 1994 — $350 - $360 – European Spec “Angel eyes/Halo” Style Glass Lens Ellipsoid Project Headlights. For all E32 models.

-         BMW E32-E34 Smiley Headlights 1989 – 1996 — $260 - $270 – European Spec “Smiley” Style Glass Lens Ellipsoid Projector Headlights. For all E32, E34 models.

-         BMW E32-E34 Xenon Headlights 1989 – 1996 — $590 - $600 – Crystal Xenon HID Headlights Chrome Housing Angel Eyes with Projector Fits. For all E32, E34 models.

All these headlights are very stylish and superb in look. These BMW E32 headlights are made up of fine quality materials and these are also long lasting. All of them come in pairs and ready to install state. Different colors like black, chrome, halo and projector are available. These headlights can be easily installed but it is recommended to have it installed by some professionals only. These headlights also come with factory mounting points. Another great thing about these is that they come with free replacement lifetime warranty against any defect. All of the headlights listed above are D.O.T compliant.

One more thing, choosing a headlight precisely is very important because it can affect the look of you car. BMW is a very fine luxury and stylish car but by a single mistake anyone can ruin its look. So whenever look for its headlights choose the perfect match. Use only genuine one for the enhancement of your car. Enhancement means giving it a better look than previous one. Always keep in your mind that if you buy a BMW E32 headlight over the internet then it will be cheaper than buying it directly from any dealer.

Gary Giardina asked:

With BMW being the great powerhouse in the world of cars there are all sorts of different ideas coming from the company. Various BMW prototypes are currently in consideration. Many of these could possibly end up being future BMW cars. They’re examples of how BMW is working to be creative and progressive in the world of cars.

The former Z8 was a sports car that was made with an especially strong 4.9L V8 engine. The Z10 is expected to become a new car in the future. This follow-up to the Z8 is a car that will feature rear wheel drive and will have a powerful V10 engine. Unlike other cars with this much power this car is expected to weigh less than three thousand pounds.

The BMW X1 is another of the upcoming BMW cars. This is a luxury sport utility vehicle that will feature a four-wheel drive engine and is expected to be close to the 1-Series in the field of BMW cars. This means that this car will be one that is readily affordable to anyone who is interested in a luxury SUV.

The PAS, or Progressive Activity Sedan, is another of the BMW prototypes to check out. This is expected to compete in the future with the R-Class from Mercedes-Benz. This is based on the 7-Series cars and is a hatchback style car.

Another of the BMW prototypes is a car that will compete with other luxury coupes. This is the F01. This car, along with the higher end F02, is expected to be a replacement for the 7-Series in the future. A similar car for the company’s Rolls-Royce division is expected to be made as well, and although the price of a Rolls-Royce is generally at least $150,000 in value this can is expected to be less expensive than that of the Phantom model that the company is especially known for.

The X5, a luxury SUV that features V6 and V8 engines, is expected to be getting an upgrade in the future as well. The X5 M is expected to be an especially popular update on the X5 for the future. This is expected to be an update in that the vehicle will feature a V10 engine that is similar to what is already being offered in the M5 sedan. It is expected to have 500 horsepower for an especially great rate of acceleration.

BMW is continuing to be popular in the field of cars, and with this there will be various different advancements in the future and all sorts of different BMW prototypes. The future of BMW is expected to be especially great through all of the future BMW cars that are coming soon.

Hailey Kerr asked:

As Formula BMW USA joins the Champ Car World Series for two consecutive race weekends, the San Jose Grand Prix will host the 9th and 10th rounds of the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship on July 27 – 29. Seventeen young drivers entered the race with a 1.5-mile, 7-turn Redback Raceway. Reports say it will provide quite a contrast to the rolling 4.0-mile, 15-turn Road America circuit where Rounds 11 and 12 will be held on August 9 - 12.

Part of the BMW 325e parts making company; the Formula BMW USA Championship passed the midst of the season at Lime Rock Park on July 6 – 7. Round 8 marked the 50th Formula BMW USA race since the series started in 2004.

So far, three young men have stood on the top step of the podium. They are also atop the overall point standings. Daniel Morad (Eurointernational), one race winner last year on his way to the Rookie Championship, has earned five more victories this year, making him the driver with the most career Formula BMW USA wins and a 77-point leader. Sophomore driver Sebastian Saavedra (Eurointernational), who had an advance win in Round 7 at Lime Rock Park, placed second in overall points. Rookie Esteban Gutierrez (Autotecnica) after two 17th place finishes at Lime Rock may have fallen five points behind Saavedra, but the 15-year old still leads the Rookie standings. Gutierrez is a holder of a record six straight poles in Rounds 1 through 6.

Behind these three are Maxime Pelletier (HBR Motorsport Team USA), Alexander Rossi (Team Apex Racing USA) and Steven Guerrero (HBR Motorsport Team USA) standing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Series graduates also continue to shine as they climb the motorsport ladder. The San Jose Grand Prix will seem to be a reunion as many graduates compete in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship. Taking the overall pole, Robert Wickens (2006 Formula BMW USA Champion) finished second in the opening round of the Champ Car Atlantic season at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and won in just his fourth start in Portland. Eight more Formula BMW USA graduates are racing in Atlantics this year: James Hinchcliffe (04), Kevin Lacroix (05), Matt Lee (06), Tom Sutherland (04, 05), Simona De Silvestro (06), Frankie Muniz (06), Adrien Herberts (05, 06) and David Garza (06).

Among the first group of Formula BMW USA Junior scholarship winners, Graham Rahal became the first Formula BMW USA graduate to earn a full-time drive in the Champ Car World Series with his start at Las Vegas this year. He became the youngest ever to reach a Champ Car World Series podium with his second-place finish in the Grand Prix of Houston just this April.

Round 10 qualifying will be held on Saturday at 11:50 - 12:20 p.m.

The Round 9 race will be held on Saturday at 3:20 - 4:05 p.m. and on Sunday, just shortly after a 15-minute morning warm-up at 8:00 a.m., the Round 10 race will begin at 9:55 a.m.
